In accordance with the goals of the country's energy strategy, Nareva contributes to diversify the energy mix while meeting all of the necessary requirements for combating climate change and global warming as well as preserving our natural environment.
The 1,386-megawatt Safi project is Africa's first ultra-supercritical thermal power plant. It was created by Nareva in collaboration with Engie and Mitsui, and it stands apart from conventional thermal power plants by being more efficient and leaving less of an environmental footprint.
With its state-of-the-art machinery and 10% higher efficiency compared to traditional power plants, this facility is able to significantly cut down on both CO2 emissions and fuel costs. The plant is also equipped with desulphurization and denitrification facilities. After 49 months of construction, the factory started up in December 2018.
